Course Outline
Part 1: Know Yourself and Where You Want to Go
Section 1: Welcome to the Future You Want
We all find ourselves in moments of transition at different points in our lives, wondering, "What's next for me? Where am I going now? What should I focus on and do to dramatically improve my state of mind, relationships, and contributions?"
In this course, Brendon will lead you through an enlivening process to answer those questions, as well as create decisions and plans that will help you reach the next level. You'll learn the habits of mind and heart that will help you get the most out of this course, and out of life!
Section 2: Identify Your Next Bold Moves
How do you know if you are where you need to be in life? Do all areas of your life feel like they're balanced and in-sync, or have you consistently wavered— sometimes doing well in one area but not the other? Sometimes, when we embark on a journey of personal development, we just don't know where to start. Life just feels out of balance, but it is hard to know exactly where to focus.
In this session, Brendon reveals the seven main life areas we juggle, and how you can improve each to achieve overall balance and life transformation. You'll get honest with yourself in the Life Areas Assessment, and pinpoint where to start planning your next move.
Section 3: The Clarity Chart: Defining Who You Truly Are (Part 1)
Is it hard to express yourself clearly, or to be comfortable in your own skin in social situations? Have you ever felt like you just didn't truly know yourself? Why, after all this time, do you sometimes feel unsure of how to act or uncertain about what makes you extraordinary?
Perhaps unconscious labels have been driving your self-image—"I'm not good enough. I'm too fat. I'm poor. I'm too young or old to make a difference." Don't let these limiting beliefs take control of you! It's time to consciously choose the identity you want to live from and into from now on.
Section 3: The Clarity Chart: Defining Who You Truly Are (Part 2)
Now that you have examined the seven main areas of your life and chosen goals to focus on, the Clarity Chart Tool will help you identify who you truly want to be as a person. You'll learn to move forward in a way that is true to yourself.
Download and print out your Clarity Chart. Brendon will guide you through it in the next two videos and help you explore how you see and express yourself in the world.
Section 4: The Six Recurring Identity Themes
The way your identity has been formed throughout your life can affect what you believe is possible for you. It turns out that recurring "identity themes" (the way you see yourself) can dominate how capable and ready you feel to take risks and seize new opportunities.
Today you'll learn about the six identity themes and get clear on how they've been affecting your daily habits and routines. This lesson will help you change how you need to look at yourself and your life in order to get to the next level.
Section 5: Wrap Up
You've examined your life and your identity, and set some important goals for yourself. Next week, you will really dig into how you think, and how to shift your mindset to prepare for the transformative change ahead.
Part 2: The Way The Mind Works
Section 1: Welcome and Intention
Have you ever felt that your mind keeps playing tricks on you? Sometimes you're confident, sometimes you're not; some days you're positive and loving with yourself, and other days you are your worst enemy. Why does this happen? It's because of the way your mind works and how your perceptions shape your thoughts and feelings.
Section 2: The Ladder of Perception
In this lesson, Brendon teaches you how to get into a better, more positive mindset. It's all about shaping the way you think!
Section 3: Heavy Thoughts: Creating a Positive Outlook
Have you ever had a thought that you replay over and over, that you focus on and obsess about constantly? If you find yourself getting more angry about a situation the more you think about it, you are making it too important.
Why do we do this, and how can we retrain our brains to give more weight and importance to the thoughts that raise us up and help us focus, and less to those that bring us down? In this video, Brendon helps you externalize these thoughts and lighten them up for a more positive outlook.
Section 4: How to Remove Chaos From Your Life
You can have all the plans and good intentions in the world, but if you can't remove stress and distractions or say “no” when it counts, you'll always feel off purpose and overwhelmed. In this video, you'll learn to set boundaries, say no without guilt, and create an environment that unlocks your creativity and potential.
Section 5: Wrap Up
Today, Brendon wraps up the core concepts of Part 2 and the strategies you learned to prepare yourself and your life for major change. In the next lesson, it's time to start making the great decisions that will pave your path to a bold, inspiring future.
BONUS: Interview With Tony Robbins
In this bonus video, Brendon speaks with his personal mentor Tony Robbins, a global leader in personal development. They talk about how to know what you want and how to understand what you are afraid of in order to overcome those fears. Tony opens up about the times in his life when he went through poverty and how he made the biggest decision of his life as an eleven-year-old boy.
Part 3: How to Make Great Decisions
Section 1: Intention: Make Yourself A Priority
You make big decisions every single day, but how often do you really dig into the internal workings of your mind and ask what is really right for you? Do you prioritize yourself? How do you rethink your routine when you get stuck?
The intention for Part 3 of this course is to make yourself a priority in the midst of other peoples' agendas. Though you might be a good leader, servant or caretaker, in order to be great for other people you have to take care of yourself. If you do that, you will feel more energized, centered, and excited about serving others again.
Section 2: Your Hour of Joy: The First 60 Minutes of the Day
Do the first 60 minutes of your morning prime you for a day of focus, joy and fulfillment? Or is it leading you down a never-ending path of confusion, stress and missed to-dos?
In this session, you'll learn how to use your morning as a powerful tool to shape your ideal day. These three steps will help you start your day with intention and accomplish what you really want, instead of constantly reacting to other peoples' priorities and needs.
Section 3: Will You Reach Your Goals? (Goal Predictor Assessment)
We've all had this experience: You get really excited about a new goal, about changing your life in a big, exciting way. You might decide you want to start exercising every morning, or try painting again, or move to a new place, or start a new business venture. But then you wake up the next morning, and your initial excitement has deflated, and you slip right back into your old routine without following through.
So how do you really view your goals? Do you really feel like they are possible? And are you ready to take steps toward making them happen?
In this video, Brendon introduces the Goal Predictor Assessment. This custom quiz highlights 10 areas that predict if you will stick to your goals (or not) and can provide you with valuable insight into how you can take concrete steps toward turning those dreams into reality.
Section 4: How to Make Great Decisions (Opportunity Evaluator)
Making great decisions about what's right for you when you are faced with different options is a skill you can practice. It takes intentionality and a good sense of what you want to consistently move in the direction that's right for you. You've spent much of the course so far laying the foundation for where you want to go—now you can begin to get there.
In this video, Brendon introduces the Opportunity Evaluator, a simple but powerful tool that will help you make choices when faced with major and minor life decisions. This could be something as overwhelming as buying a house or starting a new job—or as simple as shifting your day to start an exercise routine or hobby you've always wanted to try.
Section 5: Wrap Up
This week was all about you—sticking to your decisions, choosing the right options and starting your day right. Revisit these tools as you make bigger and bigger decisions in the weeks ahead and throughout your life—especially when you feel disappointed and frustrated.
Honor the struggle and when you don't know what to do, just keep muddling through. You will make it! Your next bold move is just around the corner!
Part 4: Making Your Next Bold Move
Section 1: Intention: Making Your Next Bold Move
Now is a great time to reconnect to why you want to change, to remember what's really important as you move forward in life.
In this video, Brendon shares the story of how he lost his momentum during an important transition in his life. He got it back by reflecting on why he initially wanted to change, getting clear on his priorities and making a clear commitment to that transformation. You will also revisit the seven life areas from Part One and explore how to shift those into greater balance and alignment.
Section 2: Making Your Move and Maintaining Momentum
By now, you probably have a pretty good idea of what you want your next bold moves to be—so it's time to start writing your manifesto. This is your mission statement, your declaration of what you want from life and why you're committed to it.
It's time to take all your visions, goals and learnings and bring them all together in a written plan. This plan does not need to be perfect, and it can always change. For right now, it should just be a thoughtful, intentional consideration of what you want for the next few years of your life.
Section 3: Dealing with Fear and Disappointment
You've set out some big goals for yourself, and created a plan. So what if you fail? The disappointment and fear of failure can be paralyzing—but accept that it is all part of the process of change. The best way to overcome this fear is to take a tiny step forward—you will soon realize that it's not as bad or as scary as you thought. Not everything will turn out perfectly, and that's okay.
In this video, Brendon will walk you through the three reasons fear can hold you back and will give you strategies to turn disappointment on its head. You will learn to see disappointment as a learning opportunity, as a way to increase your knowledge and skills and move forward in the growth and development process.
Section 4: 5 Habits For Staying Bold
In this video, Brendon brings together all the strategies you've learned in the course so far, and presents the five daily habits for staying bold. From practicing your hour of joy to your release meditations, these are the daily strategies that will help you maintain momentum.
Section 5: Wrap Up
Congratulations on the work you have accomplished as part of this course. You should take great pride in the steps you have taken toward a new and better life for yourself. This is not the end—this is the jumping off point.
Now that you've done this work, things will change. You know where to focus, how to start your day, implement your habits and maintain your momentum. You've gotten the answers that prepare you for the next stage, and you will face new questions as you move ahead.
Be honest with yourself, know where you want to go, be bold inside, and stay excited for that next level. Now, the true journey begins!
