Meet Your Teacher

Tracee shares teachings that are sourced from over 18 years of study in the tradition of the Himalayan Masters, Sri Vidya and Tantra. She was introduced to yoga by way of Kundalini, and practiced with Yogi Bhajan in Los Angeles before studying Hatha yoga. Then an executive in the film industry, Tracee noticed that the practice provided the balance, clarity and perspective she needed to stay calm in the midst of chaos.

She continued on to study in the lineage of the Himalayan Masters and Tantra, and was later initiated in the lineage of Sri Vidya by Yogarupa Rod Stryker.

Since 2004, Tracee’s focus has been on meditation, self-empowerment and self-inquiry, sankalpa (intention) and yoga nidra. It is Tracee’s passion and dharma to create sacred containers for transformation, self-remembrance and activation of inner radiance.

Founder of Sankalpa Shakti Yoga School and a faculty member at Esalen, Tracee leads events, workshops and trainings across the globe.

"I was first introduced to this practice in 2001 and it changed my life. The more I practiced deep relaxation techniques, the more I was able to remain calm in the midst of turmoil. I needed less sleep, my mind was sharper and my creativity was amplified."
~ Tracee Stanley

What is Yoga Nidra?

This is the practice for our modern times. The healing salve we all need - deep rest.

Many of us spend countless hours in “fight or flight” mode – ever alert, available, and constantly reacting to a deluge of news and notifications. Our moments in a “rest and digest” state, the opposite of "fight or flight," are far fewer. And yet our minds and bodies truly need that deep rest to recover and restore.

Through the techniques that lead to the state of consciousness called yoga nidra, we can find that deep rest. Deep Relaxation offers us a precious twenty to thirty minutes of not doing, of deep surrender allowing us to transcend the chatter of our thoughts and in turn experience a sense of all-encompassing relaxation.

This course is for you if…

  • You are sick and tired of being sick, tired, or stressed out
  • Have difficulty sleeping because your mind is always on
  • Feel a constant, nagging “tightness” in your body and mind
  • Are feeling exhausted, burnt out, or in constant crisis mode
  • Are excited to add new self-care and healing modalities to your practice
  • Have tried other forms of yoga and meditation but can’t quite quiet your mind
  • Are looking for insights and inspiration by turning inward
  • Are ready to commit to, respect, and love your body’s calling for deep rest

It’s time to reclaim your energy, your clarity, and your peace of mind.

Course Curriculum

Welcome

Tracee teaches us how to set ourselves up for a Yoga Nidra practice, including posture variations and props to support the body.

Day 1: Body

This class focuses on becoming aware of all parts of the physical body. Known as “systematic relaxation,” this practice allows you to create a new relationship with your physical body and deepen your ability to move into “rest and digest.”

Day 2: Energy

This yoga nidra session revolves around cultivating sensitivity towards the energetic body, with the aim of cleansing and rejuvenation.

Day 3: Mind

In this session, Tracee teaches us to witness our impressions as an observer without attachment, judgment, or analysis, and to relax the mind.

Day 4: Intuition

Move beyond the mind and connect with the part of yourself that knows, and knows that it knows. Experiment and let go of expectations to create a new way of being in the world.

Day 5: Bliss

The final practice is supported by the previous 4 days of practice guiding you to rest deeply in spaciousness.

"Tracee Stanley is wonderful. She led the course in weight-loss retreats with me and I loved her work."

Marianne Williamson
Author of Return to Love

"Working with Tracee has been one of the most important experiences of my life. Creating my personal San Kalpa with her to practice over my 40 days of Yoga Nidra allowed me to shed the long held layers of creative resistance I have carried all these years. It also allowed me to sink into the truth of myself at my core - and find my true voice of service in this world.... If you haven’t worked or studied with Tracee yet - run, don’t walk, to do so."
