When Dr. Jonathan Berman started the March for Science, he was surprised to see anti-vaccine advocates joining him. How could people who were advocating for science also believe in something that scientific study didn't support? His investigations ultimately led him to write "Anti-vaxxers: How to Challenge a Misinformed Movement" — a compassionate and nuanced approach to discussing the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

Today's conversation covers the history of vaccine skepticism, case studies of vaccine injury and legal liability, the incentives of "Big Pharma," and an overview of the COVID vaccine, including how it works and the process used for clinical trials.
