Day 6: Cultivating Joy

We experience two types of joy. One is momentary, when something funny happens or a nice word is said in passing and we laugh or smile — for a bit, we’re filled with joy. The other is long term and lasting, sustained by gratitude and a life of meaning and purpose. If we’re waiting on joy to enter our life, we’re not living as connected or congruent as we could be. When we work to strategically cultivate joy, we give more to the people around us and, in turn, we create bonds that enable a cycle of joy begetting joy and vibrancy begetting vibrancy.
